Kara Beth H. - age 5

Kara Beth's still life - used color pencil to shade her 3-D forms, and got creative along the way! :o) BEAUTIFUL colors!
Nice work by Kara Beth using perspective and shadows to show a 3-D image of this game die! (Horse beneath)

Kelly - Color mixing / Forms - age 6

Kelly's very realistic cylinder. The shadow and shading on form looks just like she saw it from her angle - Wow!
Kelly created this still life of a cylinder, sphere, and cube by mixing her colors to get the shades she desired she used ONLY red, blue, yellow, white and black oil pastels. Super work, Kelly!

Braden - age 9

GREAT use of color by Braden! Employed 'little circles' to create shading...it works!

This is Braden's cylinder (age 9). He drew it without specific direction this last class. You can see very distinct shadow and blending, and the cylinder is clearly round - he did a wonderful job!

ART CLASS ASSIGNMENT!

08-31-07 to 09-21-07

These next few weeks, you will be working on lines and patterns. When you come back, we will learn about color!

Here’s what I would like you to do:
In your sketch book, draw two lines across a piece of paper, just like we did in class. The lines can be straight (you can use a ruler to help with this) or they can be curvilinear (remember, that means that they are curved). Now, your paper should be divided into three spaces. Fill two of those spaces with a pattern (a repeated group of lines, images, or shapes). Then, you can color in your picture! You can use oil pastels, color pencils, or crayons!

Make two of these pictures, and then bring them to class next time!
